Le conseil municipal d’Alfred-Plantagenet esp\u00e8re que le vieil adage selon lequel \u00ab la troisi\u00e8me fois est la bonne \u00bb s’av\u00e9rera exact alors que le canton tentera une fois de plus d’obtenir une subvention provinciale pour le projet d’agrandissement de l’\u00e9tang d’\u00e9puration de Plantagenet.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lors d’une r\u00e9union extraordinaire tenue le 17 juin, le conseil a approuv\u00e9 une recommandation de l’administration d’embaucher le Sandstone Group, un cabinet d’experts-conseils d’Ottawa qui se sp\u00e9cialise dans la prestation de conseils et de soutien dans les demandes et dans le lobbying pour obtenir le soutien des gouvernements de haut niveau. Don Boudria, ancien d\u00e9put\u00e9 lib\u00e9ral de longue date de Glengarry-Prescott-Russell, est maintenant associ\u00e9 principal du Sandstone Group.<\/p>\n

Le canton d’Alfred-Plantagenet tente pour la troisi\u00e8me fois d’obtenir une subvention provinciale pour l’infrastructure afin de couvrir les co\u00fbts de l’agrandissement et de la remise en \u00e9tat de l’\u00e9tang de Plantagenet, dans le cadre des efforts d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s pour moderniser l’installation de traitement des eaux us\u00e9es de Plantagenet. Les deux premi\u00e8res tentatives ont eu lieu en 2024 et 2025, lorsque le canton a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 une demande dans le cadre du Fonds ontarien des travaux hydrauliques, alors que la province offrait des subventions d’aide \u00e0 l’infrastructure pour soutenir l’augmentation du nombre de logements disponibles dans la province.<\/p>\n

Cette fois-ci, le canton pr\u00e9sentera une demande dans le cadre d’un nouveau programme mis en place par le gouvernement Ford apr\u00e8s les \u00e9lections provinciales du printemps de cette ann\u00e9e. Le Programme d’infrastructures municipales et de logement (PIML) aidera les municipalit\u00e9s \u00e0 construire de nouvelles infrastructures ou \u00e0 remettre en \u00e9tat des infrastructures vieillissantes.<\/p>\n

Cela comprend les bassins de traitement des eaux us\u00e9es, couverts par la section \u00ab Sant\u00e9 et s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de l’eau \u00bb du PIML. Cette partie du programme dispose de 173 millions de dollars pour aider les municipalit\u00e9s \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser des projets concernant les services d’approvisionnement en eau et de traitement des eaux us\u00e9es et d’autres infrastructures connexes.<\/p>\n

Les projets approuv\u00e9s peuvent recevoir 73 % de leurs co\u00fbts de financement, jusqu’\u00e0 un maximum de 30 millions de dollars. L’estimation actuelle du projet d’agrandissement et de r\u00e9habilitation du bassin de Plantagenet est de 17 millions de dollars, mais l’administration a sugg\u00e9r\u00e9 qu’il serait peut-\u00eatre pr\u00e9f\u00e9rable d’ajouter 2 millions de dollars au co\u00fbt pr\u00e9vu lors de la demande de subvention. Cette estimation de 2 millions de dollars permettrait d’anticiper toute d\u00e9pense impr\u00e9vue pendant les travaux du projet.<\/p>\n

Si la demande du canton est accept\u00e9e, la municipalit\u00e9 pourrait obtenir 13,87 millions de dollars de financement du PIML pour le projet d’agrandissement du bassin de lagunage. Le canton couvrirait les 5,13 millions de dollars restants gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un pr\u00eat et \u00e0 d’autres sources de financement.<\/p>\n

La date limite de d\u00e9p\u00f4t des demandes de financement au titre du PIML est fix\u00e9e au 26 juin. Dans un rapport de 14 pages pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 au conseil, l’administration du canton a soulign\u00e9 ce que le Sandstone Group pouvait faire pour aider le canton dans sa demande de financement du PIML, gr\u00e2ce aux contacts du groupe de consultants et \u00e0 son exp\u00e9rience dans les relations avec les hautes sph\u00e8res du gouvernement.<\/p>\n

Le conseil a accept\u00e9 la recommandation et a donn\u00e9 \u00e0 l’administration une directive pour un contrat de trois mois, se terminant \u00e0 la mi-septembre de cette ann\u00e9e, avec le Sandstone Group. Les conditions du contrat pr\u00e9voient des honoraires de 39 000 dollars, pay\u00e9s par le fonds de r\u00e9serve des \u00e9gouts de Plantagenet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
