{"id":141871,"date":"2026-09-22T10:02:38","date_gmt":"2026-09-22T14:02:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tribune-express.ca\/?p=141871"},"modified":"2026-09-22T10:02:40","modified_gmt":"2026-09-22T14:02:40","slug":"eileen-crooks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tribune-express.ca\/en\/obituaries\/eileen-crooks\/","title":{"rendered":"EILEEN CROOKS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of, Eileen \u201cDee Dee\u201d Crooks nee MacIntyre, who passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital, on September 10, 2026, at the age of ninety. Beloved wife of the late Gary Crooks who passed away on October 1, 2020. Loving mother of her son Jeffrey (Lucie Nezan), and her daughters, Lorelei (Maurice St. Pierre) and Leilani (Chris Paswisty). Cherished grandmother of Gary (Lisa Lecappelain), Curtis (Rae-Anne Lanningan), Tanika (Randy MacKinnon), Bradley (Paige Lee), Zackery, Brittany, and Austin. She will forever be missed by her great grandchildren, Olivia, Kerrigan, Leni, Gavin, Peyton, Sierra and Bennett and her many nieces and nephews. Eileen \u201cDee Dee\u201d was predeceased by her brother, Leonard MacIntyre (Joyce Tomalty). Mom was endlessly creative, always immersed in a project and happiest when making or reimagining something. Dad\u2019s passing left a void in her life that could never be filled. Though letting her go is difficult, we find comfort in imagining them together again after nearly six years apart.<br>She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by everyone whose life she touched. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, September 26th, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. at the Vankleek Hill Curling Club. Words of remembrance will follow at 11:00 a.m. followed by a lunch and reception. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery at 2:15 p.m. (We will leave the Curling club at 2p.m.).
