Best New Year’s gift ever

The Russell resident had the winning ticket in the 50-50 draw for the 2021 CHEO Dream of a Lifetime lottery. When the January 5 draw was held, Gravelle’s ticket won her more than $1.4 million.

CHEO officials presented Gravelle with her prize during a home visit January 12. The lucky Russell resident indicated that she intends to share her winnings with her family. The total jackpot from all the 50/50 ticket sales amounted to $2,867,625. Gravelle’s half share of the jackpot is $1,433,812.50.

Mark Coldham of Ottawa won the lottery grand prize valued at more than $3.1 million. That includes a fully-furnished Minto Dream Home, with bi-weekly cleaning service for a year, $100,000 cash, a 2021 four-door LTD Hybrid Explorer four-wheel-drive, and other items.

Proceeds of the CHEO Foundation lottery help support programs and services at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
