Food Basics has opened in Hawkesbury.

The new store, which is located at 1450 Tupper Street, celebrated its official opening on Aug. 14. The new 32,000 square foot site will employ roughly 100 people, which officially becomes Food Basics 149th store in its 30th year of operations.

This new store is the fourth to open in Ontario with three more stores scheduled to open later this year. The Hawkesbury location is open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on weekends from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“Our main goal is to provide our customers with the best discount shopping at the lowest prices possible,” said Chris “I’m looking forward to opening our doors
and welcoming everyone to our new and modern store here in Hawkesbury.”

At the opening of the new store, Food Basics representatives presented a donation of $5,000 to the Hawkesbury Central Food Bank. To celebrate opening day, gift
bags were given to the first 250 customers.
