Serious 417 collision sends toddler to hospital

The Hawkesbury detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a serious collision on Highway 417 in Hawkesbury that resulted in a three-year-old passenger being sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Around 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, police responded to a single vehicle collision on the eastbound 417, west of County Road 14.

The three-year-old was transported to hospital by ambulance, and two other passengers were sent to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Police closed the highway at the site of the collision for eight hours as they conducted their investigation. All eastbound lanes reopened after 11:30 p.m.
