A new strategic plan for HGH

Hawkesbury`s regional hospital announced its new strategic plan to guide its services and development for the next five years.

The theme for the 2025-2029 strategic plan for Hawkesbury and District Regional Hospital (HGH) is “Collaborate and Innovate for Better Health” and HGH officials indicated that the new plan “marks a significant turning point” for the regional hospital`s overall goal of making it “a healthcare leader for Canadians outside of major cities.”

“The launch of the 2025-2029 Strategic Plan is an important milestone for HGH,” stated Guy Yelle, HGH board of directors chair, in a news release. “This plan will guide us toward a future where innovation, collaboration, and accessible care are at the heart of our mission to better serve our community.”

The goal for HGH in its new strategic plan is “to reimagine healthcare for Canadians beyond urban centres” while maintaining its bilingual services in recognition of the Franco-Ontarian heritage of its surrounding community and also working towards providing accessible healthcare programs that recognize the needs of rural and remote areas.

The new plan has five main strategic focuses: personalized, inclusive and patient-centred care; foster a thriving and well-trained staff by investing in professional development, hiring well-qualified personnel, and promoting teamwork for patient care; sustainable and responsible business and financial plans for hospital operations for the benefit of HGH and the community; developing and maintaining strong partnerships with other health agencies and also with other agencies representing government, education, social services, community groups, and the private sector; taking advantage of technological and other improvements for patient healthcare.

“This strategic plan reflects our commitment to being a leader in healthcare innovation for Canadians living outside major cities,” stated Frédéric Beauchemin, HGH chief executive officer. “Through strengthened partnerships and a clear vision, we are working to build a healthier future for all.”
