OPP asking for help in solving attempted robbery in late September

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigators are asking for the public’s help in relation to an attempted robbery in Hawkesbury in late September.

Officer responded to reports of an incident at a gas station on John Street in Hawkesbury on Sunday, Sept. 28 shortly after 3:30 a.m. It was reported that a lone male had approached a store employee, threatened him and demanded money. As the employee yelled for help, the would-be thief fled by foot.

Officers were unable to locate the man after an extensive search of the area.

The individual is described as a large man. He was wearing a blue jacket, black ball cap, camo pants and white running shoes. The male’s face was covered with a neck warmer. A photo is attached.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on the robbery, or who may have relevant doorbell or dashcam video, should contact the Hawkesbury OPP at 1-888-310-1122 and refer to incident E251319225.
