The Hawks suffered two defeats during the past weekend of games in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) schedule.
Last Friday night at home in the Robert Hartley Sports Complex the Ottawa Junior Senators beat the Hawks 7-3.
Ottawa got on the scoreboard first with a goal by Thomas Barney midway through first period. Assisting him were Eric Kane and David Deschatelets. Ottawa continued scoring through the period with a power-play goal by Deklyn Campbell, from Justin Mongeon and Carter Williamson, two minutes after Barney`s goal, and another power-play point three minutes before the end of the period by Adam Gauthier, assisted by Mongeon and Caleb Mead.
Ottawa continued its scoring through second period with goals by Raphael Tellier, from Mongeon and Josh Lachapelle, and power-play points by Hunter Robitaille from Mongeon and Campbell, and by Henry Brady, from Barney and Wynston Iserhoff.
Robitaille scored one more goal for Ottawa early in third period, with help from Campbell and Barney.
Edward Downey put Hawkesbury on the scoreboard about five minutes into the period, with help from Tyler Walsh. The Hawks continued scoring the rest of the period with goals by Joshua Agnese, from Parker Burns and Matthew Itzkovitz at the period midmark, and by Danny Kananga, in the last minute of the game, with assistance from Max Cantelon.
Hawks versus Colts
The Cornwall Colts scored 4-1 against the Hawks Saturday at the Ed Lumley Arena.
First period went by with no goals for either team. The Colts scored first in second period on a power-play effort around the middle of the period by Colby Lauzon, assisted by Luc Lampert and Camden McCuaig. Hawkesbury`s Matthew Itzkovitz answered back four minutes later with his own power-play point, with help from Marc-Olivier Lauzon.
Cornwall`s Wyatt Warner broke the tie in the last three minutes of the period, with assists from Lampert and Keenan Quenneville.
Third period saw Warner put in another goal for the Colts six minutes into the play, with help from Lauzon and Chancey Novosad. About thirty seconds later Brandon Rockwell scored the last point of the game for Cornwall, with assists from McCuaig and Luc Beliveau.
Sunday`s home game between Hawkesbury and Brockville is postponed. The next game for the Hawks is Friday at home against Kemptville followed by a Sunday road game against Pembroke.
