Scones, sandwiches, salmon blinis, jubilee cake and tea were catered by Hudson-based British shop Clarence and Cripps. The room was decorated over the June 5 weekend with historical details to honour British tradition. Blair Mackay, the percussionist for the band April Wine between 2009 and 2013, played the piano for the event.  

Queen Elizabeth II, now 96 years old, has been the reigning monarch of Great Britain and 14 other commonwealth realms since February 1952. She was crowned on June 2 of that same year. She is the longest-living and longest-reigning British monarch. There has never been a platinum jubilee for any British monarch.
